Type:
full-time Very few finance roles give you the opportunity to help steward a brand that has helped shape the sound and the look of modern music. Our client is a family-owned American musical instrument company with one of the most recognizable legacies in the industry. Its instruments have been played by generations of groundbreaking artists and have become an enduring part of American music history. Today, the company combines the character and long-term perspective of a multigenerational family business with the reach of a significant strategic partnership with one of the world's leading musical instrument companies - providing global manufacturing, distribution and marketing capabilities while preserving the authenticity, heritage and identity of this iconic brand. The family office is looking for a finance leader capable of helping protect that legacy and shape what comes next. This is a high-visibility financial leadership role with a clear path to becoming their CFO in the next 1-3 years. This organization is much more than an operating company - it's also the steward of a globally recognized intellectual-property platform supported by important licensing relationships. This role will work onsite in Savannah, GA - our client will provide relocation assistance.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You will partner directly with the CFO and own the financial infrastructure - from core accounting and financial reporting to budgeting, forecasting, audits, licensing-partner economics, controls, risk management and the protection of valuable intellectual property. Lead the full accounting function - general ledger activity, month-end, quarterly, and annual closes, financial statement preparation, and year-end tax coordination with outside CPA advisors. Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting. Provide thoughtful analysis of day-to-day business performance as well as the economics and financial performance of key licensing partners. Move the finance function beyond simply reporting what happened toward helping leadership understand why it happened and what should happen next. Manage quarterly audits of key licensing partners. Monitor compliance with agreements, internal policies and controls. Maintain appropriate documentation for IRS and regulatory purposes. Safeguard the company's intellectual property, including oversight related to trademarks, renewals, domain names and IP compliance.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field CPA license is highly preferred Prior public accounting audit experience is highly preferred Approximately 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience Strong command of financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic financial leader - not simply a technical accountant Experience working with owners, senior executives or boards Strong GAAP knowledge Experience overseeing audits and outside professional-service providers Ability to analyze complex financial information and communicate it simply and confidently Hands-on leadership style Experience within a family office, closely held company, licensing-driven organization, consumer brand or multi-entity environment would be especially valuable.
