In this high impact role, the Senior Director oversees critical accounting functions—including general ledger, technical accounting, reporting, and travel and expense—while influencing broader areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and process automation. This position plays an essential role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and the timely preparation of critical internal and external reporting.\nBeyond operational oversight, this role champions the deployment of technology and modern accounting practices to elevate the organization's financial capabilities. The Senior Director leads the evolution of advanced system controls, drives AI enabled automation initiatives, and strengthens the company's financial infrastructure to support growth and innovation. By identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and optimizing key financial metrics, this leader helps position SNC at the forefront of digital transformation in accounting.\nCollaboration and leadership are central to this role's success. The Senior Director works closely with executive leadership, cross functional partners, and a large, talented accounting team to deliver strategic insights and drive organizational alignment. Responsibilities:

\nProvide strategic leadership and oversight for all accounting functions, including recording company transactions, classifications, and reconciliation of account balances.\nEnsure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), and company policy.\nReview and verify the accuracy of financial information, transactions, reports, balance sheet, profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules.\nDevelop and implement advanced accounting system controls to ensure adequate recognition of financial transactions.\nCollaborate with executive leadership to provide strategic financial insights and support decision-making processes.\nCommunicate and enforce comprehensive accounting and auditing policies and procedures.\nManage and mentor a large team of accounting professionals (20), providing guidance and professional development opportunities.\nOptimize key financial metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupport internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and strategic insights.\nEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.\n

Qualifications You Must Have:

\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\n15+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 8+ years in a senior management role.\nHigher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.\nPublic accounting and other related experience.\nExpert understanding of advanced accounting principles and financial reporting.\nProficiency with accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.\nExtensive experience managing a large team of accounting professionals.\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.\nThorough knowledge of financial accounting regulations, GAAP, and financial statement analysis, preparation, and reporting.\nAbility to identify, research, leverage resources and document conclusions for technical accounting resolution.\nProven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, staff accountable, and conducting yearly reviews.\nMastery of the ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo and demonstrate ability to adapt to dynamic situations.\nProven experience and skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, and literacy in the accounting disciplines.\nStrong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express concepts in verbal and written forms.\nAbility to navigate change and uncertainty, make defensible decisions in ambiguity and own those decisions.\n

Qualifications We Prefer:

\nMaster's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\nExperience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.\nExtensive knowledge of regulatory compliance and audit processes.\nSecurities & Exchange Commission (SEC) Reporting experience.\nDemonstrated passion for ideation, intellectual curiosity, and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.\nProven long-term and strategic perspective that extends beyond the immediate initiatives; visualizes and articulates a clear direction.\nDeltek (Cost Point) accounting system experience.\nPublic accounting and other related experience.\nWorking knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliance, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).\nTeam oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\n
