We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting function and help build the financial infrastructure for the next stage of our company's growth. This is an opportunity to work directly with the President, implement best practices, improve systems and processes, and play a meaningful role in a growing organization. Position Summary The Controller will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while building scalable processes that support a growing business. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys improving processes, implementing technology, and taking ownership of the accounting function. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Lead the monthly accounting close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules Maintain the general ledger and record journal entries Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations Manage accounts payable and cash disbursements Oversee accounts receivable and cash application Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules Prepare and file sales tax returns and other recurring compliance filings Coordinate with the company's outside CPA firm for annual tax return preparation Support lender reporting, insurance audits, and other financial reporting requirements Process Improvement & Systems Develop efficient, scalable accounting processes and internal controls Improve reporting accuracy, consistency, and timeliness Identify opportunities to automate routine accounting activities Document accounting policies and procedures as the organization grows Growth & Strategic Support Assist with accounting integration of future acquisitions Support financial due diligence and special projects Build accounting processes capable of supporting a significantly larger organization Provide financial analysis and support to leadership as needed Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience owning a full month-end close process Strong knowledge of
U.S. GAAP
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy Preferred CPA designation Multi-unit restaurant, franchise, retail, hospitality, or other high-volume operating business experience Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage Intacct and QBO Experience participating in an ERP implementation Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls Who You Are You are someone who enjoys building rather than maintaining.
