CTE Specalist

Job Description

JOB The CTE Specialist supports Career and Technical Education students as they transition from high school, workforce training programs, military service, and technical education pathways into postsecondary education. This position provides individualized guidance related to financial aid, scholarships, veterans' educational benefits, enrollment processes, and student success resources. Working collaboratively with campus and community partners, the specialist helps remove barriers to enrollment, persistence, and completion while supporting the institution's mission of student success and workforce development.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide individual assistance to students completing the FAFSA, including FSA ID creation, application completion, and understanding eligibility requirements. Assist students with Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship applications and other federal, state, institutional, and private aid opportunities. Advise students regarding veterans' educational benefits, including applicable GI Bill and military-connected student resources. Educate students regarding responsible borrowing, federal student loan processes, entrance counseling, and Master Promissory Note requirements. Conduct workshops, presentations, classroom visits, and outreach events to increase awareness of financial aid and college enrollment processes. Collaborate with Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Veterans Services, and other departments to provide seamless student support. Maintain accurate records of student interactions, communications, referrals, and follow-up activities. Assist with data collection, reporting requirements, grant activities, and program assessments. Stay current on federal and state financial aid regulations, scholarship programs, and veterans' benefit requirements. Provide culturally responsive support to diverse populations, including first-generation students, adult learners, veterans, and underserved populations. Represent the institution at community events, college fairs, high school visits, and workforce development activities. Support recruitment, retention, persistence, and completion of initiatives for Career and Technical Education students. Utilize student information systems, financial aid systems, customer relationship management tools, and other technology platforms to support student services. Perform other related duties as assigned.
