Job Description

This position will assist the professional staff of the Financial Aid Office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing general assistance to students, photocopying, filing, computer work, and answering the telephone. This position will also provide backup support to the Front Desk at both the Harrison and Mt. Pleasant locations. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines. Responds to prospective/enrolled students, parents, faculty, and staff for requests of general information including instructions on applying for aid, status of individual applicants, Financial Aid policies, and important semester dates. Performs duties related to filing, including alphabetizing documents, creating file labels, and scanning documents to be filed electronically. Assists with mailing communications to students and retrieving/sorting incoming mail. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Certification, Licensure:
High School Diploma Experience:
Experience working in a customer service environment is strongly preferred. Experience working in an office setting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written format, with various constituencies including students, faculty, administrators, and community members. High level of organizational skill and ability to prioritize. Ability to maintain close attention to detail through frequent interruptions. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and influence others. Display patience, diplomacy and excellent public relations skill; project professional image. Maintain highest level of confidentiality Analytical ability to identify and resolve a variety of issues or challenges in an effective and timely manner. Mental ability to adapt and respond to multiple priorities and demands, deal with the concerns of faculty, administrators and students. Be flexible in schedule to allow for changes during the semesters, in accordance with busy periods. Physical ability to sit/stand and travel, for short - extended periods.
