Foley & Lardner is seeking an associate with 3-4 years (Class of 2022-2023) of relevant experience to join its Financial Regulatory practice. This position may be based in any of Foley's U.S. offices. The ideal candidate will have experience counseling banks, credit unions, FinTechs, non-bank commercial and consumer lenders, servicers, consumer reporting agencies, and technology providers on federal and state financial laws and regulations, including the Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and related consumer protection requirements. Qualified candidates must have experience with financial regulatory and state licensing analyses, regulatory interpretation, drafting and negotiating contracts and lending documents, and advising clients on compliance with key federal and state commercial and consumer financial regulations. Experience assisting with regulatory enforcement investigations and actions is a plus. We are seeking a motivated, well-rounded attorney who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Strong academic credentials are required. Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and be active members in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Bar of the state where the hiring office is located will be required as a condition of employment. Current judicial clerks need to apply directly and may not be submitted by a legal recruiter. In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The expected salary range for this position is between $260,000 - $310,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
