Role:

Our Manufacturing client near Aliso Viejo, CA is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be an industry match from a Manufacturing Company with standard cost accounting experience. This position is an interim position on a W2 basis.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and collecting data to determine costs of commercial inventory, such as raw materials, direct costs, and overhead.
• Updating standard costs on an annual basis utilizing Bills of Materials and the ERP system.
• Validating Cost of Goods Sold as part of the month-end process.
• Automating reporting and analysis using advanced Excel and Access tools, such as pivot tables and queries.
• Cost modeling and product pricing studies and new item setups.
• Preparing spending and variance analyses.
• Responsible for internal controls, financial control documentation and testing, and supporting audits.
• Ensuring that items are correctly classified, and statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Assisting in the analytical and/or strategic function, including the development of budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
• Ability to manage and allocate resources, set priorities, and coordinate with various departments and third-party vendors.
• Conceiving ideas for problem resolution (e.g., supporting cost improvement teams).
• Providing management with key performance indicators for decision-making purposes.
• Assisting manufacturing with periodic physical inventory counts and monitoring cycle counting, as well as investigating variances and resolving issues.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Standard Costing experience preferred

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$62.00 - $72.00 per hour
