Job Description:

Recognized as the expert in industrial refrigeration systems, ALTA Refrigeration has been in business since 1975. We specialize in the design, manufacturing, installation, and servicing of industrial refrigeration systems for multi-temperature distribution centers, food service centers and cold storage facilities. We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to manage and perform the daily accounting operations of the company and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company's financial records. This position reports to the CFO and directly supervises one A/P associate. Please note that this position is 100% in-office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable and accounts receivable Complete general ledger administration and journal entries Perform month-end and year-end closing and audit support activities Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations Ensure proper submittal of monthly sales and use tax filings across multiple states Assist with financial reporting and cash flow management Maintain fixed asset program and accounting Administer lease tracking, accounting, and reconciliations Coordinate with external auditors, tax accountants, and regulatory agencies as needed Maintain organized financial records and strong internal controls Drive improvements in internal accounting procedures Supervise and support accounting staff while delegating daily tasks Serve as payroll back-up for HR when necessary

Qualifications and Requirements:

2-5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and close processes Experience with sales and use tax preferred Experience with project, construction, or manufacturing accounting preferred Ability to work well with others Self-starter with a positive attitude Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills Excellent problem-solving skills Advanced MS Excel skills, as well as experience with MS Access ERP software experience What we offer: 80 hours of Vacation 120 hours of PTO 7 Paid Holidays Group Health Insurance with strong company contribution Company Paid Long Term/Short Term Disability Insurance Company Paid Life Insurance 6% Company Match on 401(k) Employee Referral Program Please feel free to review our website at www.altarefrigeration.com to learn more about our company.
