Company Overview Oxus is an engineering, manufacturing, and service company specializing in medical devices and gas separation technology. We design and manufacture our products in Auburn Hills/Lk. Orion area. We are currently seeking candidates for a Financial Analyst position on our day shift. This position is an on-site job (not remote). Position Summary The Finance Manager will oversee the financial management and reporting activities of the manufacturing operation, combining strong accounting expertise with financial analysis and business partnership. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains strong accounting practices, supports budgeting and forecasting activities, and provides insights that improve operational performance, profitability, and decision-making. The Finance Manager will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, including the general ledger, trial balance, balance sheet, income statement, inventory accounting, and cost accounting, while partnering with operations leadership to support business decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead accounting and finance activities for the manufacturing operation, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reporting, and supporting schedules. Review and analyze trial balance activity, general ledger accounts, account reconciliations, and financial statement accuracy. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Analyze financial results and communicate key drivers, trends, and variances to management. Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and ongoing financial performance reporting. Partner with operations, production, supply chain, purchasing, and leadership teams to identify cost savings, improve profitability, and support business decisions. Oversee manufacturing cost accounting activities, including standard costing, product costing, inventory valuation, labor efficiency, material usage, overhead absorption, and production variances. Review and maintain accuracy of bills of material (BOMs), routings, labor standards, cost-roll ups to support accurate product costing Analyze gross margin performance, manufacturing costs, profitability by product/customer, and operational performance metrics. Monitor inventory accuracy, physical inventory processes, cycle counts, inventory reserves, and working capital performance. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting functions to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies in compliance with company standards and accounting principles. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and banking activities to support financial stability and liquidity. Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, and business cases to support capital expenditures, equipment purchases, cost reduction initiatives, and strategic decisions. Coordinate external audits, tax filings, financial reviews, and compliance activities with CPA firms and outside partners. Manage relationships with banks, lending institutions, and insurance providers, including financing arrangements, credit facilities, treasury activities, covenant compliance, and insurance renewals. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial reporting and regulatory requirements. Support ERP system improvements and enhancements to financial reporting capabilities. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members. Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting capabilities, and operational finance practices. Experience with Mergers and Acquisition preferred. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Strong understanding of financial statements, including the ability to interpret and explain balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and trial balance activity. Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to partner effectively with operational leaders and executive management.
