1 Accounting/Office Staff Member About the Opportunity We are looking for a motivated, hands-on Accounting Manager to join our growing landscaping company. Working closely with ownership, you will gain broad, hands-on exposure to the financial and operational side of the business—including accounting, job costing, payroll, budgeting, cash flow, profitability, and business planning. It is an opportunity to understand not only the numbers, but how all areas of a business work together to drive success. Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash flow, and collections.
- Manage job costing and monitor job profitability, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Oversee payroll processing and payroll accounting.
- Work with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Manage, train, and support one accounting/office staff member.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and overall business efficiency.
- Work with office and field personnel to resolve financial and operational issues. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience with job costing, AP/AR, and payroll.
- Strong QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage priorities.
- Comfortable managing and developing a small team.
- Hands-on approach and willingness to be involved in day-to-day accounting.
Plus:
Experience in landscaping, construction, or another service-based business; experience with Aspire software; Spanish-speaking skills. What We Offer
