Job Description:

SHR Talent is partnering with a growing privately held real estate investment group that is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its team in Cortland, OH. This organization owns and operates a portfolio of commercial retail properties and offers the opportunity to work closely with ownership in a highly visible role. This position will oversee accounting operations across a portfolio of commercial real estate assets while helping build scalable financial processes as the company continues to grow. The role offers a strong opportunity for someone who is ready to step into a leadership role and grow over time. The ideal candidate will have experience in property management or real estate accounting and be comfortable working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis across the portfolio Coordinate with third-party partners, property managers, and external accountants Provide high-level oversight of financial activity related to additional operating entities Assist in implementing process improvements and scalable accounting procedures Support ownership with financial insights and reporting

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of accounting experience Experience within commercial real estate or property management accounting preferred Familiarity with property accounting systems such as Yardi is a plus Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Ability to operate in a hands-on, fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work closely with ownership and operate with a high level of trust
