La Vergne, TN, Hybrid Brands:

Jet, Powermatic, Wilton, Edwards, Baileigh, Axiom At JPW Industries, we don't just build products, we build careers. Own the close. Raise the bar. Lead the AI-powered future of accounting. Numbers tell the story of a business, and in this role you are the one who makes sure that story is accurate, on time, and worth acting on. As our Accounting Manager, you will own the monthly close and consolidation, lead a talented accounting team, and put clear financial insight in front of executive leadership and our Board. You will also have the mandate, and the tools, to reinvent how the work gets done using AI and modern finance systems. JPW Industries is a leading woodworking and metalworking machinery and tools company, home to trusted brands like Jet, Powermatic, Wilton, Edwards, Baileigh and Axiom. With domestic and international entities, and inventory-intensive operations, our accounting function sits at the center of the business. This is a high-visibility seat for a CPA who wants real ownership and a team ready to grow with them. What You Will Own This is a leadership role with true accountability for the integrity of our financial results.

The Close:

Financial & Covenant Reporting:

Deliver US GAAP financial statements, debt covenant compliance, and executive and Board reporting that leaders trust.

Technical Accounting:

Be the go-to expert on revenue recognition, inventory valuation, leases, income taxes, and debt, and own the documentation behind every judgment.

An AI-Enabled Team:

Build and coach a team that uses AI and automation to work faster, smarter, and with stronger controls.

Your First Year:

What Success Looks Like You own a predictable close calendar with clear ownership, tighter review, and measurable gains in close speed and accuracy. Executive and Board reporting packages land on time, with results and key drivers explained clearly to senior stakeholders. Audit, tax, and covenant compliance cycles run smoothly, supported by well-documented technical accounting positions. You have launched AI and systems-driven improvements that remove manual work and strengthen internal controls, and your team is actively adopting them. How You'll Spend Your Time Run the Close Lead the monthly close process, including consolidation and coordination with international entities. Own the accounting areas with the highest complexity and estimation judgment. Review team deliverables, account reconciliations, and analytical reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Report & Advise Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and related covenant compliance. Prepare reporting and analysis for executive leadership and the Board of Directors, and communicate results and key drivers to senior stakeholders. Research, apply, and document technical accounting matters, and coordinate with external audit, tax, and specialist providers. Lead & Improve Leverage AI and financial accounting systems to drive process improvements, efficiency, stronger controls, and higher reporting quality. Supervise and develop team members through effective review and coaching. Lead and support special projects across financial accounting and international operations.

What You Will Bring:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MBA or MAcc a plus.

Certification:

Active CPA designation required.

Experience:

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including product-industry experience (manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or retail). Public accounting experience is a plus.

Leadership:

A track record of leading, developing, and mentoring an accounting team and driving accountability and growth.

Close Ownership:

Proven ownership of month-end and year-end close timelines, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Technical Depth:

Strong command of revenue recognition, inventory valuation, income taxes, debt, and lease accounting, plus experience preparing or supporting US GAAP financial statements and disclosures.

Industry Acumen:

A solid understanding of manufacturing and distribution cost structures, inventory, and operational accounting.

Controls:

A strong grasp of internal controls and compliance, with experience supporting audits.

AI & Tools:

Hands-on use of AI tools to automate processes and support analysis, and a passion for driving AI adoption across a team. Advanced Excel required. SAP and Claude (or an equivalent AI tool) strongly recommended; Workday Adaptive, Prophix, Workiva, Power BI, Alteryx, and Avalara highly preferred.
