Accounting Manager

Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Accounting Manager will support the Finance Director in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting department.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: 1. Finance Director
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Working with the Accounts Payable clerk with purchase order general ledger coding. Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards. Maintain the monthly detail entries and reconciling for Capital Projects. Manage the proper recording of new purchases and disposals. Assist the Finance Director with monthly entries and reports. Review and approve quarterly and yearly payroll reports. Reconciling monthly retirement reports.
Additional duties:
Supporting Accounts Payable with administrative needs. Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time - quite often with short notice - by the Finance Director. Others duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of general ledger accounts and record keeping; minimum of 3 years experience. Experience working with balance sheets, financial statements, data analysis and budgeting. Experience in accounting software, Incode experience a plus. Accuracy and attention to detail Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills. Must be highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets and MS Word documents. Must be able to work independently and highly organized. Ability to communicate with the public and coworkers in an effective, professional and courteous manner. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as: telephone, computers, copy machine, calculator and fax machine.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and to pull, push, or drag up to 30 pounds of materials and supplies; climb, kneel, squat, twist, stoop and sit for extended periods of time; some exposure to odors and dust hazards. Duties are performed in an office setting.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION
A Bachelor's degree in accounting; or Three years of related experience in the accounting field; or Any equivalent combination of related education and experience
