Client Accounting Manager Company:
RockWood Accounting Services, LLC Job type:
Full-time Pay:
$50,000 + a year .... no cap (heavily DEO experience and revenue generation)
Location:
San Angelo, TX /
On-site Schedule:
Monday - Friday About the role Rockwood Accounting Services is a bookkeeping and financial services firm that keeps small-business books clean, current, and useful. We are hiring a Client Accounting Manager to run day-to-day delivery and also handle a book of clients themselves. This is a player-coach role. You will review other people's work, tighten process, and still close files. You will not sit in meetings all day while someone else does the books. What you will do Own monthly close for assigned clients: coding, bank/credit card/loan recs, AP/AR, payroll tie-out, and month-end adjustments Prepare and review P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash reports clients can actually use Review staff or contractor work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before it goes out Set and hold close calendars so files finish on time, every month Be a primary client contact: questions, missing docs, cleanup projects, and "what does this number mean?" Keep QuickBooks files clean: chart of accounts, classes/locations, opening-balance issues, and messy historical books Flag scope creep, late clients, and files that need a cleanup or a process change Help standardize checklists, naming, workpapers, and quality standards across the firm Support year-end packages for the tax preparer (1099s, recs, fixed assets, prepaid/accrual schedules) Suggest better workflows, apps, and automations when they actually save time What success looks like in 90 days Assigned clients close on schedule with few surprises Reviews catch issues before the client sees them You know which files are clean, which are messy, and what it will take to fix them The team has a clearer close process than when you started Required 2+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping or staff accounting, including monthly close Multi-client or public-accounting / CAS / bookkeeping-firm experience (not only one company's internal books) Advanced QuickBooks Online skills (rec, rules, reports, cleanup, classes) Solid grasp of how the P&L, balance sheet, and cash actually tie together Comfort talking to clients without overpromising or hiding problems Strong Excel and a habit of documenting what you did Ability to manage several files at once and hit month-end dates Preferred Experience reviewing or training other bookkeepers QBO Payroll, Gusto, ADP, or similar Bill.com / Melio, Hubdoc / Dext, or other QBO add-ons Sales tax, 1099s, and basic payroll tax filings QuickBooks Online certification Industry mix such as service businesses, contractors, e-commerce, or professional firms Degree in accounting or finance (helpful, not required if the work product is strong) This role is not a fit if You only want to review work and never touch a file You only want data entry with no client conversation You need a large department, a formal controller title, or audit-heavy public accounting What we offer $50,000 + .... no cap (heavily DEO and revenue generation) Health / dental / vision stipend PTO / holidays Retirement / match Direct impact on how the firm runs, not a seat in a 200-person accounting department Room to grow into a broader operations or client-advisory role as we add clients and staff How to apply Apply on Indeed with your resume. In a few sentences, tell us: How many client files you have closed in a typical month Whether you have reviewed other bookkeepers' work Your strongest QBO experience (Online, Desktop, or both)
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Benefits:
Employee discount Paid sick time Paid time off Professional development assistance Profit sharing Referral program
Experience:
QuickBooks Online:
2 years (Required)
Work Location:
In person
