Accounting & Finance Manager Everspire Midvale, UT Job Details Full-time $60,000 - $85,000 a year 23 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) matching Employee discount Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Retirement plan Qualifications Teamwork Expense management Financial records management Financial planning experience within finance Process management Full Job Description Accounting & Finance Manager Growth Path to Controller | Financial Services | In Office About the opportunity We are looking for a smart, dependable, hands-on Accounting & Finance Manager to join our growing team and help us build the next stage of our finance and operations function. We are a group of related financial-services companies working together from one office. We care a lot about doing excellent work, treating people well, and creating an environment where people enjoy coming to work. Our team is friendly, collaborative, ambitious, and growing—and we want this person to become an important part of it. This is not a narrowly defined accounting job where you inherit a finished system and stay in one lane. It is a builder role with significant room to grow . Initially, you will take ownership of several important day-to-day functions, including billing, bookkeeping oversight, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, and selected HR/people operations responsibilities . You will also work closely with our outside CFO/accounting resources and gradually help bring appropriate functions in-house as you learn the businesses and build the systems to support them. For the right person, our goal is for this position to develop into a Controller-level role with substantially greater responsibility and compensation over time. What you'll do Your initial responsibilities will include: Take ownership of recurring billing processes across our related businesses, including accurate calculations, reconciliations, documentation, and follow-through Help manage day-to-day accounting across multiple related entities Oversee bookkeeping accuracy and help drive a clean, timely month-end close Manage payroll, accounts payable, bill pay, expense tracking, and other recurring finance operations Work closely with our outside CFO/accounting team and CPA Learn functions currently handled by outside providers and help determine which responsibilities should be brought in-house Prepare and improve management reporting, including P&Ls, cash-flow visibility, budgets, and forecasting support Track and reconcile intercompany activity Identify accounting or process issues and help us clean them up rather than simply working around them Build better workflows, controls, documentation, and repeatable processes Assist with selected HR and people-operations responsibilities , including employee records, payroll/benefits coordination, onboarding/offboarding administration, and related internal processes Help leadership understand the numbers and improve the financial and operational discipline of the businesses As you grow in the position, we expect the scope of the role to grow with you. Who we're looking for We care more about capability, attitude, ownership, and growth potential than finding someone with a perfect résumé. You may be a strong fit if you: Have a solid accounting foundation and aren't afraid to work in the details Have experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, Full-Charge Bookkeeper, Assistant Controller, or in a similar role Are comfortable with reconciliations, bookkeeping, month-end close, payroll, reporting, and spreadsheets Are exceptionally organized and dependable Like figuring out how things work and making them better Can comfortably manage recurring responsibilities while also tackling new projects Communicate well and enjoy working with other people Take ownership instead of waiting for someone to tell you every next step Want a role where your responsibilities can expand significantly as you prove yourself Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills are important. A college degree is helpful, but not required . Experience in financial services, an RIA, broker-dealer, accounting firm, professional-services business, or another regulated industry is helpful but also not required. Experience with HR administration or people operations is a plus. Interest in eventually developing into a Controller or FINOP-track role is also a plus. What it's like to work here We want to build the kind of workplace talented people don't want to leave. We're professional, but we're not stuffy. People know each other, help each other, laugh together, and genuinely enjoy working as a team. We value people who are positive, kind, capable, and willing to pitch in. We're also growing, which means there is room for good people to grow with us. This role is particularly well suited to someone who wants: Real growth. We would much rather develop someone into a larger role than keep a great employee boxed into the job they were originally hired to do. Real ownership. You'll be trusted with important responsibilities and have the opportunity to improve how things are done. Access to leadership. You'll work directly with ownership and senior leadership rather than being several layers removed from decision-making. Variety. You'll gain exposure to accounting, finance, operations, HR, and multiple businesses within financial services. A builder environment. Not everything is perfect or finished—and that's intentional. You'll have the opportunity to create systems rather than simply maintain someone else's. A friendly team. We take our work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. We want people to enjoy working here. Compensation $60,000-$85,000 per year , depending on experience, capabilities, and the scope of responsibilities you are prepared to own. We want to be transparent about the range. This position is designed to grow over time . Many candidates will begin toward the lower or middle portion of the range while learning our businesses and taking ownership of the initial responsibilities. As you successfully take over additional functions, bring appropriate outsourced work in-house, improve our systems, and assume greater financial leadership, we expect both responsibility and compensation to grow accordingly . Our objective is not to hire someone to perform the same job indefinitely. We are looking for someone with the potential to become increasingly valuable to the organization—and to be rewarded for that growth.
