Job Description

Job Summary A growing banking and consumer lending organization is seeking a Deposit Operations Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Los Altos, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented banking operations professional with strong experience in deposit account servicing, ACH, wires, check processing, card transactions, exception handling, and regulatory compliance. The Deposit Operations Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, secure, and compliant deposit and payment operations. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with risk management, compliance, finance, treasury, vendors, and internal operations teams in a collaborative environment that values ownership, process improvement, accountability, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily deposit operations, including checking, savings, time deposits, account maintenance, transaction posting, deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.
  • Manage payment operations including ACH RDFI and ODFI activity, domestic and international wires, check processing, debit and credit card transactions, returns, recalls, disputes, and chargebacks.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable banking and payment regulations, including NACHA rules, Regulation E, UCC Article 4A, BSA/AML, KYC requirements, Fedwire standards, and related processing guidelines.
  • Investigate and resolve processing exceptions, customer disputes, payment errors, fraud concerns, and operational issues in partnership with internal teams and third-party vendors.
  • Prepare reconciliations and daily, weekly, and monthly reporting related to deposit and payment activity while maintaining accurate documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Support system integrity, vendor coordination, process improvements, operational risk mitigation, and implementation of payment technology enhancements. Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $85,000 to $90,000 per year.
