This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in an independent environment, values accuracy, maintains strong confidentiality, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. The successful candidate will bring strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting the day-to-day financial health and administrative operations of the church. Professionalism, discretion, strong customer service, and a positive team-oriented attitude are essential. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, deposits, bank reconciliations, payroll preparation, and financial transaction entry in QuickBooks
  • Process and track all church income, including pledges, donations, Sunday collections, special events, and other receipts
  • Support monthly investment reconciliations, expense allocations, and annual budget setup Reporting & Compliance
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial reports for the Finance Committee, Board of Trustees, and external auditors
  • Support balance sheet reporting, investment reporting, audit preparation, and required tax filings including W-2s and 1099s
  • Maintain accurate financial records, documentation, and compliance with internal controls Administrative Support
  • Provide administrative support to the Business Administrator and senior staff, including preparing Board materials and maintaining financial records
  • Support office operations including mailings, office supplies, equipment maintenance, and general office organization
  • Serve as a helpful point of contact for parishioners, guests, and staff interacting with the church office QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong math, organizational, and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information with care
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for bank deposits, post office runs, and occasional local errands Preferred
  • Associate degree in Accounting or Certificate in Bookkeeping
  • Experience working in a nonprofit environment
