This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in an independent environment, values accuracy, maintains strong confidentiality, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. The successful candidate will bring strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting the day-to-day financial health and administrative operations of the church. Professionalism, discretion, strong customer service, and a positive team-oriented attitude are essential. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, deposits, bank reconciliations, payroll preparation, and financial transaction entry in QuickBooks
Process and track all church income, including pledges, donations, Sunday collections, special events, and other receipts
Support monthly investment reconciliations, expense allocations, and annual budget setup Reporting & Compliance
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial reports for the Finance Committee, Board of Trustees, and external auditors
Support balance sheet reporting, investment reporting, audit preparation, and required tax filings including W-2s and 1099s
Maintain accurate financial records, documentation, and compliance with internal controls Administrative Support
Provide administrative support to the Business Administrator and senior staff, including preparing Board materials and maintaining financial records
Support office operations including mailings, office supplies, equipment maintenance, and general office organization
Serve as a helpful point of contact for parishioners, guests, and staff interacting with the church office QualificationsRequired
Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Strong math, organizational, and analytical skills
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information with care
Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for bank deposits, post office runs, and occasional local errands Preferred
Associate degree in Accounting or Certificate in Bookkeeping
Experience working in a nonprofit environment
