Destination:
Progress. As a mid accounting and financial reporting specialist on the Statutory Reporting team, you'll execute medium to highly complex statutory financial reporting. You'll prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and company close analysis. You'll monitor accounting and financial reporting changes and maintain compliance with internal SOX controls and with state insurance department requirements. In addition, you'll partner with a variety of departments and business units, providing expertise to internal and external customers and reviewing items of high importance and materiality. This is a hybrid role, requiring work from our headquarters in Mayfield Village, OH. Must-have qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g. Finance) and a minimum of 2 years of accounting work experience. Preferred skills 3-5 years' experience with GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles and reporting. Experience with financial statement analysis, month end closing and account reconciliations. Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening, presentation) and organizational skills (planning, time management, priority management). Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and communicate accounting & financial reporting issues to management timely and concisely. Highly proficient and comfortable with extensive use of Excel. Compensation $61,300-$81,700/year Gainshare annual cash incentive program up to 24% of your eligible earnings, based on company performance.
