A Member Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for credit union members. This role provides exceptional member service by processing transactions, opening and maintaining accounts, resolving account issues, and educating members about financial products and services. The MSR helps members achieve their financial goals while ensuring compliance with credit union policies and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Greet and assist members in person, by phone or email.
Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other financial transactions.
Open, maintain, and close checking, savings, certificate, and retirement accounts.
Provide information regarding credit union products, services, rates, and policies along with membership eligibility rules and branch office information.
Research and resolve member account inquiries, discrepancies, and service issues including but not limited to online banking, mobile banking, etc.
Accept requests for stop payments, wire transfers, debit and credit cards, check orders, account information changes, direct deposit, etc.
Provide members with account status information including current balances, loan payoffs, etc.
Perform night depository functions, which include logging the information and posting to member's account.
Assist members with statement reconciliation.
Provide members with information regarding safe deposit boxes, if applicable to your branch. Open and close safe deposit boxes by completing contracts and obtaining required signatures. Assist authorized members with entrance to safe deposit boxes.
Maintain cash drawer accuracy and assist with branch balancing, vault balancing, end-of-day checking scanning, etc.
May be required to check the balance and fill the ATM.
Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
This position also includes clerical work for the mortgage department to include insurance filings and light title work. Pay does depend on experience.
