The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer oversees and enhances the Bank's
BSA/AML/CFT
compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations. This role serves as the primary liaison with regulators and auditors while fostering a strong culture of compliance, risk awareness, and ethical conduct across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and administer the Bank's
BSA/AML/CFT
compliance program, including day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. Develop, maintain, and enhance policies, procedures, internal controls, and strategic initiatives; monitor regulatory changes and implement updates as needed. Serve as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and law enforcement; coordinate examinations, audits, and remediation efforts. Oversee transaction monitoring systems and conduct/ensure analysis, investigation, and reporting of suspicious activity, including approval of SARs and CTRs. Manage case management processes, documentation standards, and quality control of accounts to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Administer CIP, CDD, and EDD programs, including customer risk rating, ongoing monitoring, and mitigation of risks related to customers, products, and services. Oversee the OFAC compliance program, including sanctions screening, escalation, and reporting of potential matches. Audit and assess
BSA/AML/CFT
program effectiveness and regulatory readiness; identify gaps and implement corrective actions and new compliance initiatives. Develop and deliver training, provide guidance to staff, and promote a strong culture of compliance and risk awareness. Prepare and present reports, metrics, and insights to senior management and the Board; maintain required records and stay current on regulatory and industry developments. Support enterprise risk initiatives and perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree or a related field preferred. Experience in
BSA/AML/CFT
compliance, risk management, or banking operations. Working knowledge of
BSA/AML/CFT
regulations, FinCEN requirements, and OFAC sanctions. Experience with
BSA/AML/CFT
monitoring systems and case management tools. CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certification is a plus.
Required Skills:
Strong analytical, investigative, and organizational skills. High accuracy in reviewing alerts, preparing reports, and documenting findings to meet regulatory standards. Clear and professional written and verbal communication for SAR narratives, internal reporting, and regulatory interactions.
