This vital role combines front desk responsibilities with specialized knowledge of insurance prior authorization processes, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient insurance approvals. The ideal candidate will be the friendly face of our practice, providing exceptional customer service while managing complex administrative and clinical documentation tasks. Your proactive approach will help streamline office operations, support compliance with healthcare regulations, and enhance patient satisfaction through effective communication and organization. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression while managing check-in and check-out procedures efficiently. Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks. Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather required documentation for insurance submissions, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes (ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical records. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by updating patient information, documenting clinical notes, and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) confidentiality policies. Communicate effectively with managed care organizations and insurance companies to facilitate timely approvals. Support office operations by managing appointment scheduling, answering phone calls, handling correspondence, and maintaining a professional reception area. Ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and medical terminology standards during all interactions. Experience Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is required. Demonstrated proficiency in insurance verification, and prior authorization processes. Knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care procedures, and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EMR/EHR platforms is essential. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, insurers, and team members. Experience handling medical records management, clinical confidentiality policies, and medical terminology is highly desirable. This position can be part-time working 3 days a week (limited benefits) or full-time 4 days a week (beneifts).
