This position combines patient-facing front desk responsibilities with insurance verification and prior authorization duties. We are looking for someone who is organized, professional, comfortable working independently, and experienced in navigating insurance requirements and obtaining authorizations for medical services. We want someone who takes ownership of the authorization process , follows up consistently, identifies problems early, and works to get cases completed accurately and on time. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced medical office professional who enjoys both working with patients and handling the insurance/authorization side of a specialty medical practice. Responsibilities Obtain and track prior authorizations for procedures and medical services Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket responsibilities Communicate with insurance companies and utilize payer portals to obtain authorization information Follow authorization requests from submission through approval and proactively address outstanding requirements Review authorization requirements and ensure necessary clinical documentation is available Maintain accurate documentation of insurance and authorization activity in the patient's account Schedule and confirm patient appointments Answer incoming calls and assist patients professionally Complete patient registration and verify demographic and insurance information Collect patient payments and provide appropriate payment information Scan and maintain patient documents and records Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, patients, insurance companies, and outside offices Assist with other front-office responsibilities as needed
Qualifications Required:
Previous medical office/front desk experience Previous insurance verification and prior authorization experience Experience communicating directly with insurance companies Strong computer and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail and follow-through Professional telephone and patient communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities without losing track of outstanding tasks Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
Preferred:
Experience obtaining authorizations for surgical or interventional procedures Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes Experience with commercial insurance and other payer requirements Experience with AdvancedMD or a similar EHR/practice-management system Experience in orthopedics, spine, pain management, surgery, or another specialty practice Join us in making a difference by providing exceptional administrative support that enhances patient experiences and streamlines healthcare operations!
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
