Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Office Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will support administrative functions related to medical billing, coding, and patient records management. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations within our healthcare environment by handling billing processes, insurance claims, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a caring facility committed to excellence in patient care. Duties Assist with medical billing processes using specialized billing software and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to ensure accurate claim submission and follow-up Review and code medical procedures utilizing CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards for proper reimbursement Manage health insurance claims, verifying coverage details, submitting claims electronically, and following up on denials or pending payments Maintain organized medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and facilitating easy retrieval of patient information Support the medical office team by scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and providing excellent customer service Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of diagnoses, procedures, and treatments in EMR/EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems Assist with medical collection efforts by following up on outstanding balances and coordinating with patients or insurance companies as needed Experience Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is highly preferred Strong knowledge of healthcare claims management, medical coding (including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
), and billing procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with billing software and EMR/EHR systems Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and billing documentation Knowledge of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and healthcare compliance standards Exceptional customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients, providers, and insurance representatives Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and stay current with evolving healthcare regulations Join us in making a difference by supporting our commitment to compassionate patient care through efficient administrative operations.
