Position Summary The Insurance Producer is responsible for generating new business, growing the agency's book of business, and developing long-term relationships with clients. This position focuses on identifying customer insurance needs, providing appropriate coverage options, converting leads into new policies, and identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional products. The Producer is expected to maintain a strong sales pipeline, consistently follow up with prospects, provide excellent customer service, and meet established production and performance goals. B. Primary Job Functions Generate new business through leads, referrals, existing customers, and prospecting. Quote, present, and sell insurance policies based on customer needs. Follow up on leads, pending quotes, and sales opportunities. Meet established sales, policy, and premium production goals. Cross-sell additional insurance products to new and existing customers. Review and follow up on assigned policy renewals. Contact customers regarding renewal premiums, coverage changes, and requirements. Re-quote or re-market renewals when appropriate to retain customers. Identify coverage gaps and additional sales opportunities during renewals. Assist customers with renewal-related questions and prevent avoidable cancellations. Maintain accurate documentation of sales, quotes, renewals, and customer interactions. Maintain knowledge of carrier products, underwriting guidelines, and agency procedures. C. Secondary Job Functions Performs periodic service calls on designated accounts. Actively solicits referrals from existing agency customers. Assists in resolving any problems in accounting or claims for accounts produced when necessary. Coordinates timely presentations for both new and renewal business. Assists in marketing accounts where appropriate due to relationships or product expertise. Performs other functions as assigned by management. D. Sales & Performance Expectations Performance will be evaluated using measurable production and activity standards, which may include: New policies written New business premium Quote-to-bind conversion rate Number of quotes generated Lead follow-up activity Cross-sell rate Customer retention Referral generation Sales revenue and commission production Accuracy and completeness of policy documentation Individual production goals may be established and adjusted based on agency objectives, lead volume, experience, and market conditions. E. Qualifications Active California Property & Casualty Insurance License preferred or required within the timeframe established by the agency. Previous insurance, sales, or customer service experience preferred. Strong sales and relationship-building skills. Comfortable communicating with customers by phone, email, text, and in person. Strong follow-up and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities simultaneously. Self-motivated and comfortable working toward measurable sales goals. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer and technology skills. Ability to learn and work with agency management systems, carrier websites, quoting platforms, and other agency technology. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. F. Work Schedule & Physical Requirements This is an in-office position generally scheduled for 40 hours per week. The position primarily involves prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, frequent telephone and electronic communication, and occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of office materials. Other Requirements Assists with premium collection and follow-up on accounts assigned to the Producer. The Producer is responsible for timely follow-up and documentation of outstanding premium requirements. Ability to use a personal computer, calculator, agency automation system, and demonstrate proficiency in various software programs, including but not limited to all Microsoft Office software suite programs. Candidate must satisfactorily complete pre-hire employment assessments and maintain a satisfactory driving record. Candidate may be asked to submit to a drug and/or alcohol screening. A civil and criminal history background check will be performed at the company's expense. Physical attendance is required at regular and/or mandatory company meetings. Employees are encouraged to pursue relevant professional designations; however, this is not required.
