The role owns client retention, account development, renewal strategy, policy servicing, coverage analysis, and risk-management guidance. In addition, the Private Client Advisor supports assigned producers with new business quoting, carrier submissions, coverage and placement analysis, and client-ready proposals. The role serves as a technical resource to the Personal Lines team, helping navigate complex coverage questions, underwriting challenges, market opportunities, and placement strategies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Client Relationship & Account Management Manage a portfolio of personal lines accounts with annualized revenue of $400K or greater, including homeowners, auto, umbrella, recreational vehicle, and other personal insurance products. Serve as the primary service and advisory contact for assigned high-net-worth and executive personal lines clients. Develop a comprehensive understanding of each client's exposures, coverage needs, objectives, and service expectations. Manage day-to-day account activity, including renewals, policy changes, endorsements, billing inquiries, certificates, claims support, client follow-up, and required documentation. Conduct annual account and renewal reviews to evaluate changing risks, coverage adequacy, and opportunities to strengthen protection. Provide proactive coverage and risk-management recommendations while delivering timely, concierge-level service. Collaborate with producers, underwriters, carriers, and internal partners to resolve complex client and service issues. Producer & New Business Support Support assigned producers with high-net-worth new business opportunities. Gather exposure information and prepare complete applications and underwriting submissions. Market accounts to appropriate carriers and obtain and evaluate quotes. Analyze coverage, pricing, terms, exclusions, and carrier differences and develop recommendations. Prepare accurate, polished, client-ready proposals within established timelines. Participate in client presentations and coverage discussions as appropriate. Coverage, Placement & Technical Expertise Serve as a subject matter expert in Personal Lines coverage, policy interpretation, underwriting, carrier markets, and placement strategies. Analyze complex coverage questions, policy forms, endorsements, eligibility requirements, and unique risk exposures. Identify coverage gaps and develop appropriate risk-management and coverage solutions. Develop placement strategies for complex, unusual, non-standard, and hard-to-place risks, including appropriate use of Excess & Surplus (E&S) markets. Evaluate carrier options and negotiate coverage terms, pricing, underwriting exceptions, and placement solutions when appropriate. Partner with carrier and underwriting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) regarding coverage interpretations, endorsements, eligibility, specialized products, and emerging market trends. Provide guidance regarding Personal Lines versus Commercial Lines eligibility and appropriate department placement. Maintain current knowledge of carrier programs, coverage forms, underwriting requirements, regulatory developments, and market conditions. Revenue Growth & Retention Own book-level performance, including retention, revenue growth, account development, and coverage expansion. Identify account-rounding, cross-sell, referral, and other opportunities to deepen client relationships. Develop proactive retention and remarketing strategies to address renewal risks and achieve favorable coverage and pricing outcomes. Support producers with renewal analysis, revenue opportunities, and strategic client presentations. Service Execution & Documentation Process policy transactions and servicing activities accurately and within established Service Level Standards. Maintain complete and timely documentation in agency systems. Utilize agency systems, carrier resources, reporting tools, and renewal platforms to manage accounts and identify retention, coverage, and growth opportunities. Client Support & Escalation Management Provide guidance and support to clients throughout the claims process while coordinating with carriers and claims representatives as appropriate. Identify risk exposures and recommend appropriate loss-prevention strategies. Resolve escalated client and service concerns while protecting client relationships and minimizing agency risk. Operations & Compliance Maintain accurate, complete, and organized client records in accordance with agency standards, documentation requirements, and service expectations. Comply with agency procedures, carrier guidelines, insurance regulations, E&O prevention practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Service Level Standards, and quality requirements. Leadership & Team Development Mentor and support Account Managers and Associate Account Managers through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing. Provide onboarding assistance and technical guidance as requested. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices, technical expertise, and successful account-management strategies. General Performance & KPI Expectations
  • This role is accountable for meeting or exceeding established Personal Lines performance standards and KPIs set forth by the Director of Personal Lines.
Qualifications Education & Licensing Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required, higher education preferred.
  • A minimum of one insurance designation maintained.
  • Active Property & Casualty Producer License.
  • Advanced designation preferred (CIC,CPCU, ARM, etc.)
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a Life & Disability insurance license.
Professional Experience and Skills:
  • A minimum of eight (8) years in personal lines insurance.
  • Proven experience managing complex portfolios
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer systems
  • Familiarity with agency management systems (EPIC preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and support others Core Competencies
