In this role, you will be the key point of contact for clients seeking mortgage solutions, guiding them through the loan origination process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in mortgage lending, industry regulations, and customer service will ensure a seamless experience for borrowers while adhering to compliance standards. Responsibilities Engage with prospective clients to understand their financial goals and explain available mortgage options. Collect and analyze financial information, including credit reports, income verification, and asset documentation, to assess eligibility. Utilize Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and mortgage software such as Quicken to process applications efficiently and accurately. Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessments in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and industry best practices. Negotiate terms with clients while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations, TILA (Truth in Lending Act), and other relevant loan regulations. Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and mortgage servicing teams to facilitate smooth loan approval and closing processes. Maintain ongoing client communication throughout the loan lifecycle, providing exceptional customer service and support. Stay current on industry knowledge of financial regulations, banking compliance, and mortgage lending trends to provide expert guidance. Build strong relationships within the community and referral networks to expand business opportunities in retail lending. Qualifications Proven experience as a Loan Officer or Mortgage Loan Originator with a solid understanding of loan origination processes. Familiarity with Loan Processing Systems (LOS), mortgage software such as Quicken, and accounting software for financial analysis. Strong negotiation skills paired with excellent client communication abilities. Knowledge of Fair Housing laws, TILA regulations, FNMA standards, and banking regulatory compliance. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately using 10-key typing skills and financial software tools. Experience in credit analysis, underwriting support, and risk assessment within mortgage or commercial lending environments. Demonstrated ability to build relationships through effective relationship building in financial sales contexts. High level of professionalism with attention to detail in loan documentation, contracts, escrow procedures, and compliance requirements.
