What You'll Do As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you'll guide borrowers through the mortgage process while developing relationships and growing your business.
Key responsibilities include:
Generate new business through referral relationships, prospecting, self-sourced opportunities, and company-provided leads, as applicable. Consult with borrowers to understand their financial goals and recommend appropriate mortgage products and financing options. Take and complete mortgage loan applications and gather the documentation needed to move loans through the approval process. Review borrower financial and credit information and identify potential issues before submitting loans for processing and underwriting. Maintain regular communication with borrowers throughout the mortgage process and provide a high level of customer service from application through closing and beyond. Partner closely with internal teams to resolve issues and keep loans moving toward closing. What We're Looking For We're looking for motivated, relationship-focused professionals who take ownership of their business and deliver exceptional customer experience.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business/finance related field or High school diploma or GED with previous mortgage/financial institution experience, or commission-oriented sales experience Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong organization, problem-solving, and time-management abilities. Self-motivated, results-oriented approach with the persistence and initiative needed to succeed in a sales environment. Comfortable using technology and learning mortgage lending systems. Mortgage lending and Encompass experience are preferred but not required for all candidates. Licensing & Registration Upon Employment, this position requires successful registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) or transfer of an existing registration to Bank of England/Bank of England Mortgage, as applicable, in accordance with the SAFE Act. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining required registration and completing applicable regulatory and company training.
