Overview Pacific Bay Lending Group is a leading Non-QM lender experiencing rapid growth across our retail, wholesale, and correspondent channels. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Non-QM Mortgage Underwriter to join our Los Angeles corporate team, specializing in complex and alternative documentation loan programs. Key Responsibilities Underwrite Non-QM, jumbo, and non-conforming residential loans , including bank statement, DSCR, asset depletion, and other alternative income products Perform detailed credit, income, and asset analysis for complex borrower profiles (self-employed, investors, high-net-worth borrowers) Conduct manual underwriting and apply sound risk judgment outside of agency guidelines Review and analyze appraisals to ensure collateral meets program standards Ensure compliance with investor, federal, and internal Non-QM guidelines Communicate underwriting decisions and conditions clearly with internal teams and brokers Meet production, quality, and turn-time expectations Participate in loan scenario reviews and provide guidance on structuring complex deals Qualifications 5+ years of recent mortgage underwriting experience, with a strong focus on Non-QM and jumbo products Proven experience with bank statement, DSCR, asset qualifier, and other alternative documentation programs Deep understanding of manual underwriting and risk layering Strong ability to analyze complex tax returns and financials Experience with Encompass LOS (required) Excellent communication and decision-making skills Job Details Full-time position
