Real Estate Loan Officer

Job Description

Cedar Valley Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Real Estate Loan Officer primarily focused on the Vinton, IA market. The Real Estate Loan Officer is responsible for evaluating day-to-day lending needs, gathering and reviewing appropriate documentation, analyzing creditworthiness, and making prudent, well-supported lending decisions consistent with Bank policy, regulatory expectations, and approved lending authority. In addition, it is the responsibility of the Real Estate Loan Officer to make each customer feel safe, welcome, and valued as an individual by providing outstanding customer service, creating lending product packages that appropriately meet customer needs, and answering questions in a friendly and educational manner. Responsibilities
  • Administer Loan Applications including, but not limited to: Mortgage Home Equity Lines of Credit Construction Loans Consumer Loans
  • Make lending decisions (Approve/Deny/Counteroffer) up to approved limit
  • Obtain proper documentation to support lending decision
  • Present Loan Applications to Loan Committee when over approval limit
  • Contact customers in the event of past due loans and obtain payment Repossess collateral if applicable
  • Force place Insurances when applicable
  • Complete Customer CIP Profiles
  • Complete required Compliance forms/documents as needed by loan type
  • Ensure Cedar Valley's Investment is protected (Insurance in place if applicable)
  • Conduct Site Visits
  • Answer telephone
  • Answer customer questions
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Develop contacts with realtors, developers and builders to encourage use of bank services for residential mortgages. Provide market data, rate flyers, and general loan information to the real estate community as directed. Requirements for the position include the following:
  • High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in Real Estate/Consumer Lending. Must have valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills.
Salary commensurate upon experience and full benefits package offered.
