Who is the Bank of Kaukauna The Bank of Kaukauna was founded in 1879. We have a rich history of serving the financial needs of individuals, businesses and the communities in the Fox Valley. The Bank of Kaukauna is seeking a relationship-driven Mortgage Lender who will generate residential mortgage business, deepen relationships with business owners and their employees, and deliver a high-touch experience from the first conversation through closing and beyond. This role combines proactive business development with sound lending judgment, responsive communication, and close partnership across the Bank. This is a unique opportunity to enhance the Bank's mortgage department—shaping its sales strategy, referral network, customer experience, and processes, as well as hiring and developing future team members to support long-term growth. Key Responsibilities Sales Position yourself as a trusted advisor in relationships with existing and prospective customers by understanding their financial goals and recommending appropriate mortgage solutions. Identify opportunities through relationships and networking to contribute to the Bank's growth strategies. Maintain working knowledge of the Bank's portfolio and secondary-market mortgage products, including conventional, government, construction, and home-equity options offered by the Bank. Maintain strong relationships with customers and referral partners. Service Communicate with borrowers, real estate professionals, and internal teams throughout the loan process. Manage the mortgage pipeline from application through closing and provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure a positive customer experience. Operations Originate and underwrite residential mortgage loan applications. Gather and review documentation including income, credit, and asset information. Make lending decisions within approved limits and Bank policy. Prepare clear credit recommendations and refer exceptions or higher-risk loans for approval. Compliance Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements. Adhere and stay up to date with banking regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Follow applicable fair lending, consumer protection, privacy, fraud prevention, and information-security requirements; promptly identify and escalate concerns. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years mortgage origination experience highly preferred. Requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the Safe Act of 2008.
