full-time About the Opportunity Client is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the full-cycle payroll function for a high-volume, multi-state workforce. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in payroll administration, payroll tax compliance, and process improvement within a construction, manufacturing, or similarly complex operational environment . This position will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Experience with Vista by Viewpoint is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing for a high-volume employee population. Ensure accurate and timely payroll payments through direct deposit and other payment methods. Maintain employee payroll records, including earnings, deductions, timekeeping, leave balances, and personal information. Partner closely with Human Resources and Accounting to process new hires, terminations, compensation changes, benefits deductions, and employee data updates. Oversee all payroll tax functions, including federal, state, and local tax filings, reconciliations, audits, and regulatory compliance. Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports. Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies while ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Develop, update, and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls. Ensure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws, payroll regulations, and reporting requirements. Generate payroll reporting and analytics for leadership, including earnings, taxes, deductions, leave balances, and labor-related metrics. Support payroll audits and compliance reviews as needed. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Qualifications/Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 3-5+ years of payroll management or senior payroll administration experience. High-volume payroll processing experience. Strong multi-state payroll experience. Extensive payroll tax knowledge, including tax filings, reconciliations, compliance, and audit support. Experience within a construction, manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, analysis, and data management. Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Vista by Viewpoint . CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification. Experience managing payroll audits and compliance assessments. Knowledge of prevailing wage, union payroll, or certified payroll processes is a plus.
