Job Description

Pacific Staffing is recruiting an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst for a respected Northern California organization known for its commitment to accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex payroll challenges, and brings strong technical expertise across modern payroll systems. Candidates with multi-state experience, advanced system skills, and a passion for process improvement will excel here. The Senior Payroll Analyst supports accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across the enterprise. This role plays a key part in payroll reconciliation, general ledger integration, system testing, and cross-functional coordination with Finance, HRIS, and IT. Onsite in Sacramento or Phoenix.
Pay Range:
$82,000 - $110,00/Year (DOE) plus bonus Key Responsibilities Support end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Review payroll results, resolve discrepancies, and manage complex payroll cases including retro adjustments and off-cycle processing.

Perform payroll-to-general ledger reconciliation, partner with Finance on mapping, accruals, and variance analysis.

Monitor payroll system functionality and ensure data integrity across HRIS, payroll, and external systems.

Validate integrations (benefits, timekeeping, banking) and troubleshoot issues with HRIS, IT, and vendors.

Support Oracle payroll updates, patches, quarterly releases, and testing cycles.

Participate in payroll projects, system upgrades, automation initiatives, and process improvements.

Serve as a key point of contact for payroll inquiries and support training/documentation.

Experience processing and managing payroll in Oracle HCM strongly preferred; UKG Pro or Workday experience will also be considered.

Experience running weekly payroll is a plus; bi-weekly payroll for large employee populations (15k+) demonstrates the same level of urgency and attention to detail.

Experience with configuration of payroll elements, taxes, and payroll processes required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or related field.5+ years of progressive payroll processing, payroll accounting, or payroll systems experience.

Multi-state payroll experience preferred.

Experience with Oracle HCM or similar payroll systems preferred.

Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and high attention to detail.

Ability to manage complex payroll scenarios and competing priorities.

Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
