Payroll Administrator

Job Description

The Payroll Administrator manages all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule. This role maintains payroll records, processes deductions and benefits, resolves payroll inquiries, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Key Responsibilities Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll accurately and on time. Verify employee timecards, attendance, overtime, and leave records. Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions. Maintain employee payroll records and update changes such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and tax information. Process payroll taxes, garnishments, and benefit deductions. Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits. Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies. Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies. Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues promptly. Prepare payroll reports for management, auditors, and government agencies. Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2s and tax reporting. Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information.
Additional responsibilities include:
new hires paperwork, annual employee reviews, tracking insurance, among others. Qualifications payroll processing experience preferred. Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, UKG, or similar). Understanding of payroll tax laws and labor regulations helpful. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office preferred. Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus. Experience with HRIS and accounting systems. Ability to meet strict deadlines. High level of confidentiality and integrity. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
