The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to collect and verify payroll data, maintain payroll records, resolve payroll-related issues, and support payroll operations across multiple locations.

Friday Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Process payroll accurately and on time for assigned locations and provide payroll coverage as needed. Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and company policies. Enter and maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, transfers, status changes, and timekeeping records. Review, audit, and reconcile payroll reports, identifying and resolving discrepancies prior to payroll processing. Research and resolve payroll-related issues and document resolutions appropriately. Respond to payroll inquiries from employees, management, and regulatory agencies in a timely and professional manner. Maintain payroll system integrity, ensuring accurate employee and payroll data. Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and HRIS teams to support payroll system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations. Generate payroll reports and provide payroll-related analysis as requested. Train and support payroll users on payroll procedures, systems, and best practices. Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate administration of employee benefits, including payroll deductions, enrollments, and terminations. Work with benefits providers and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll and benefits-related issues. Recommend and implement process improvements and automation to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy. Develop and maintain payroll procedures, process documentation, and training materials. Support internal and external payroll and benefits audits by preparing required documentation and reports. Maintain organized payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and audit requirements. Process employment-related background screenings and maintain associated records as required. Review and process employee benefit invoices and related payroll transactions as assigned. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred. Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, including hands-on experience processing payroll in UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group). Experience processing multi-state and/or multi-site payroll preferred. Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, wage and hour requirements, and payroll best practices. Proficiency with UKG and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills. Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Working knowledge of HR and employee benefits administration. Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines. Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support payroll processing and special projects.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
