September 3, 2026 POSITION SUMMARY The Universal Banker serves as a primary point of contact for customers, delivering exceptional service and financial solutions while supporting branch growth and operational excellence. This position performs a combination of teller, account opening, customer service, and relationship-building activities. The Universal Banker identifies customer needs, recommends appropriate products and services, supports digital banking solutions, and ensures compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service & Relationship Management Deliver exceptional customer service through professional, courteous, and efficient interactions. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and follow-up. Effectively identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking products, services, and solutions. Retain existing customer relationships by responding to concerns and providing alternative solutions when customers request to close accounts. Assist customers with account inquiries, product information, and service requests. Educate customers on digital banking services, including online banking, mobile banking, debit card services, and electronic payment solutions. Support branch growth through referrals, cross-selling, and participation in branch sales and service initiatives. Teller Operations Process customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, cashier's checks, bond transactions, and other applicable banking services. Ensure transactions are completed accurately and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provide customers with account balance information, transaction receipts, and related account services. Balance and reconcile cash drawer and assigned cash items daily. Maintain transaction accuracy and safeguard customer and bank assets. New Accounts & Account Servicing Open and service consumer deposit accounts, including checking, savings, money market accounts, certificates of deposit, and related banking products. Maintain accurate customer records and documentation. Process account maintenance requests and customer service transactions. Ensure all required documentation and system records are completed accurately and timely. Compliance & Risk Management Adhere to all applicable bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, OFAC, CIP, and information security standards. Identify and appropriately escalate suspicious, fraudulent, or unusual activity. Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information. Support internal audits, certifications, operational reviews, and compliance examinations. Follow established controls to minimize operational and financial risk. Operations & Administrative Support Prepare reports, correspondence, and required operational documentation. Assist with branch operational tasks, balancing activities, certifications, and audit preparation as assigned. Maintain working knowledge of bank products, services, procedures, and technology platforms. Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS
Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or related coursework in business, finance, or a related field preferred. Experience One to three years of banking, customer service, cash handling, retail sales, or related experience preferred. Previous experience opening and servicing deposit accounts preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of banking products and services. Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and core banking systems. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Bilingual skills are a plus.
