✔ Professional Development Opportunities Position Summary The Patient Financial Advocate serves as a trusted resource for patients and families by helping them navigate the financial aspects of their healthcare experience. This position provides education, advocacy, and guidance regarding insurance coverage, financial assistance programs, payment options, and pre-service financial planning. Working closely with patients, providers, physician offices, admissions, billing, and community agencies, the Patient Financial Advocate helps remove financial barriers to care while ensuring every patient receives compassionate support and personalized assistance. What You'll Do Advocate for Patients Meet with self-pay patients and families to discuss available financial resources and assistance programs Help patients complete financial assistance applications Educate patients about insurance coverage, deductibles, co-insurance, and estimated financial responsibility Assist patients in establishing payment arrangements that align with hospital policies Listen with compassion and provide personalized guidance throughout the financial process Coordinate Financial Support Work with physician offices to review financial responsibilities before scheduled services Obtain required insurance pre-authorizations when appropriate Meet with pre-admission patients to explain insurance benefits and estimated out-of-pocket costs Coordinate financial arrangements for specialized services, including adoption-related deliveries Collaborate Across the Organization Partner with Admissions, Billing, Providers, Case Management, and other departments to ensure a seamless patient experience Communicate effectively with insurance companies, government agencies, attorneys, and community resources Maintain accurate documentation and patient financial records Support other Patient Financial Services functions and assist with department operations as needed What We're Looking For We're seeking someone who is: ✔ Compassionate and patient-focused

✔ Passionate about helping patients access the care they need Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Previous healthcare, insurance, patient access, customer service, financial services, or related experience preferred Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required Knowledge of insurance plans, financial assistance programs, and healthcare processes preferred Strong organizational, computer, and mathematical skills Ability to communicate professionally with patients, families, providers, insurance companies, and community agencies Be a Voice for Patients When patients are facing uncertainty, having someone who can guide them through the financial side of healthcare can make all the difference.
