Job Description

At Guardian Wealth Advisory Group, great financial advice starts with genuine relationships. We are a growing, independent wealth management firm that cares deeply about the more than 750 families we serve and the people who make it all possible: our team. We are looking for a Financial Advisor who loves meeting with clients, asks thoughtful questions, and sees opportunities to make a meaningful difference in their lives. You'll step into an established client base, work alongside a close-knit team that enjoys what it does, and help us shape an exciting next chapter. No traditional prospecting or personal book of business required.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Your primary focus will be leading ongoing reviews for assigned client households, nurturing relationships, and identifying ways to bring additional value as clients' lives and needs change. You'll take ownership of preparing for meetings, recommending appropriate solutions, and following through with care. You'll also collaborate on broader planning initiatives, contributing the experience and ideas that help our team and client experience keep getting better.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Lead Client Reviews and Deepen Existing Relationships
  • Lead recurring review meetings for assigned existing households, serving as a primary relationship contact where designated and collaborating with leadership as appropriate.
  • Understand each household's priorities, retirement goals, family circumstances, concerns, and changing financial needs; revisit plans and recommendations as those needs evolve.
  • Make complex financial decisions easier to understand by presenting thoughtful, actionable recommendations and creating a warm, responsive experience before, during, and after each review.
  • Earn clients' trust through genuine curiosity, proactive communication, timely follow-up, and personal accountability for agreed-upon next steps.
  • Strengthen long-term household relationships, support client retention, and earn referrals by delivering an experience clients feel confident recommending to family and friends. 2. Identify and Develop Opportunities Within Current Households Use comprehensive reviews to identify unmet needs and responsibly develop additional business from existing client relationships, including:
  • Additional assets under management, held-away assets, and appropriate account consolidation.
  • Retirement income strategies, including fixed or fixed-indexed annuities when suitable.
  • Life insurance, long-term care, and other protection-planning needs.
  • Tax-aware retirement planning and potential Roth conversion opportunities, coordinating with clients' tax professionals as needed.
  • Estate and legacy planning coordination with clients' attorneys and other professionals.
Evaluate alternatives, explain relevant considerations and tradeoffs, and guide approved recommendations through implementation. All advice and product recommendations must be consistent with client interests, firm policies, licensing, and applicable regulatory obligations. 3. Prepare Thoroughly and Execute Planning Recommendations
  • Review household financial plans, holdings, account information, prior meeting notes, and outstanding action items before each appointment.
  • Run relevant financial planning reports, illustrations, and portfolio or retirement analyses; conduct research to surface actionable planning opportunities.
  • Develop organized review materials, document recommendations accurately in the firm's CRM, and coordinate implementation and post-meeting follow-through with the team. 4. Contribute To Paraplanning and Team Success
  • Collaborate with Kevin Sanders and Amanda Czosek on financial planning analysis, complex cases, and preparation as business needs require.
  • Share technical expertise and partner with operations and client service colleagues. We work as one team to make sure every client feels known, supported, and well cared for.
  • Bring ideas, energy, and an improvement mindset to our evolving service model as the firm continues to grow.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Current Series 65 License, or a valid Series 7 and Series 66 License combination.
  • Current Illinois Life and Health insurance producer license, or the ability to obtain the required Illinois licenses before the start date.
  • At least one year of experience meeting directly with financial advisory clients, conducting or participating in client reviews, and discussing financial planning recommendations.
  • Ability to identify planning opportunities, present appropriate recommendations, and guide client decisions across investments, retirement income, and protection planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, clear communication, sound judgment, and a high standard of client service and follow-through.
  • Ability to interpret financial plans and reports, prepare for complex conversations, and document and coordinate next steps. Preferred
  • Experience identifying and implementing appropriate fixed or fixed-indexed annuity, life insurance, and long-term care planning solutions.
  • CFP certification or comparable depth of financial planning expertise.
  • Experience working in a collaborative independent wealth management or RIA environment.
THE PERSON WHO WILL THRIVE HERE
You genuinely enjoy people and believe excellent advice and an excellent client experience go hand in hand. You are comfortable leading a room, curious enough to uncover what matters to each family, and motivated to grow relationships through sound advice rather than product-first selling. You follow through, take pride in your work, share ideas freely, and enjoy being part of a close-knit team that works hard, celebrates wins, and has fun along the way.
WHAT MAKES THIS OPPORTUNITY DIFFERENT
Here, you can focus on being an advisor instead of constantly chasing your next prospect. You'll serve established households, work closely with accessible leadership, and have a voice in how we continue to improve and grow. We're expanding our office and building for the future, and we're looking for someone excited to contribute to that momentum. We take our responsibility to clients seriously while keeping our workplace collaborative, welcoming, and fun.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success means clients who feel heard, valued, and confident in their plans; consistently thoughtful reviews and dependable follow-through; appropriate planning solutions implemented as needs arise; strong household retention and responsible relationship growth; referrals earned through trust and exceptional service; and a positive contribution to a team that is building something together. If you want to spend more time advising, build relationships that last, and join a team that's growing and genuinely enjoys working together, we'd love to meet you. Help us deliver exceptional care to the families we serve and shape what's next for Guardian Wealth Advisory Group.
