Overview We are seeking an experienced Financial / Trust Account Coordinator to join our Operations Department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the firm's financial operations by managing attorney trust accounts, settlement deposits, disbursements, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest level of financial accuracy and confidentiality.
Job Type:
Full-Time / Onsite Responsibilities Manage daily activity involving attorney trust (IOLTA) accounts. Process and reconcile settlement deposits and client disbursements. Prepare trust account checks and electronic payments. Reconcile trust account balances and investigate discrepancies. Maintain accurate client trust ledgers and financial records. Coordinate with attorneys and billing staff regarding settlement distributions. Verify settlement funding prior to disbursement. Assist in preparing settlement accounting documentation. Maintain compliance with New Jersey attorney trust accounting requirements. Process bank deposits, wire transfers, and electronic transactions. Assist with month-end financial reconciliations and reporting. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial and client information. Collaborate with billing, operations, and firm leadership to ensure accurate financial processes. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal accounting, trust accounting, bookkeeping, or law firm finance. Experience working with attorney trust (IOLTA) accounts preferred. Strong understanding of financial reconciliations and accounting principles. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience with legal case management software (CloudLex preferred). Experience with accounting software is a plus. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required. Compensation The base salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based upon experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
