About the Role We're hiring a General Manager to run day-to-day operations at our Rootstown, Ohio location and serve as the connective hub between our sales, service, and parts teams. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who will walk the lot, know the numbers, and take real ownership of the store's performance — not just manage tasks, but think about the business the way an owner would. You'll lead a team of 13, coordinate closely with department leads, keep inventory and pricing decisions grounded in the store's financial position (including when to move equipment before floor-plan interest costs eat into margin), and personally sell while supporting the sales team when we're busy. You'll report directly to ownership and will also oversee an experienced outside sales rep who covers our 40-mile territory. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary connection point between sales, service, parts, and marketing — resolving cross-department issues directly instead of letting them escalate Lead, coach, and check in regularly with a team of 13, including supporting new hires and giving direct, timely feedback Own inventory and pricing strategy: track aging equipment, adjust pricing to hit turn targets, and make sell-now-vs-hold decisions with floor-plan/line-of-credit carrying costs in mind Review financial and sales performance regularly and make decisions with the store's overall profitability in view, not just individual tasks Actively sell to walk-in and phone customers during slower periods, and support the sales team during peak season Manage and coach the outside sales representative covering prospecting across our 40-mile territory (schools, municipalities, and businesses) Log every deal into the CRM promptly and accurately — this is required — and maintain accurate records across our dealer management system, keeping online listings (e.g., Facebook Marketplace) current Calculate monthly team bonuses and maintain accountability for department checklists and reporting Keep the lot and showroom clean, staged, and customer-ready What We're Looking For 5+ years of management experience, ideally in a dealership, retail, or equipment/automotive environment; direct GM title experience is a plus but not required Comfortable managing a team of 10+ across multiple departments Proficient with everyday business software and online tools (email, CRM/dealer management systems, online marketplace listings, spreadsheets) — this is a must, not a nice-to-have Strong financial instincts: able to read basic store performance numbers and factor carrying costs into pricing decisions A stable work history — we're not looking for someone who job-hops Mature, easy to work with, and a direct communicator who raises issues early rather than letting them build Self-motivated and driven, with a genuine sense of ownership over the store's success No specific education requirement — relevant experience matters more to us than a degree Available to work 8am-5pm Monday-Friday and 8am-noon
