Job Description
One of my best client is seeking a Pricing Analyst/ Cost Analyst for their facility located in a rural portion of Western Pennsylvania. They are a regional food manufacturing company and are very well established and a preferred employer in the area. This Pricing Analyst will support pricing strategy, financial analysis, margin optimization, and revenue initiatives across the business. This role works closely with Sales, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and senior leadership to develop pricing models, evaluate market conditions, improve profitability, and strengthen decision‑making processes. The ideal candidate brings strong financial modeling capabilities, analytical leadership, and experience managing structured pricing frameworks. Key Responsibilities Pricing Strategy and Modeling — Develop and maintain pricing models for all product lines, customer groups, and geographic markets. Quotation Preparation — Produce accurate and timely pricing for commercial RFPs and custom product requests. Data Management — Maintain and audit pricing data within the ERP system. Update monthly pricing based on regulatory communications and ensure compliance with industry‑specific pricing requirements. Cost Analysis — Partner with Procurement to monitor commodity and raw material costs, track futures markets, and prepare cost forecasts aligned with margin targets. Market Intelligence — Work with Sales to analyze transaction data, item‑level pricing, and category performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Promotional & Discount Evaluation — Assess the financial impact of promotional pricing, rebates, and volume discounts on revenue and margins. Bid Management — Prepare pricing for competitive bids at federal, state, and local levels. Track bid outcomes and incorporate competitive insights into future pricing strategies. Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Conduct cost‑structure studies and collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Distribution teams. Performance Reporting — Prepare sales and margin reports for senior management and recommend cost‑saving opportunities. Process Improvement — Identify opportunities to streamline pricing workflows, improve data quality, enhance automation, and resolve pricing issues. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related analytical field. 3-5+ years of experience in financial modeling, pricing, or cost accounting, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Experience with commodity forecasting is beneficial. Advanced analytical skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; SAP experience required. Familiarity with BI tools preferred. Ability to interpret large datasets and convert findings into clear, actionable insights. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
