Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly organized, hands-on Land Manager to oversee shorefront construction activities, property maintenance, dredging operations, contractor coordination, environmental projects, and corporation assets for Lake Shafer and Lake Freeman. This position works closely with committees, contractors, county and state agencies, residents/property owners, and the Board of Directors to ensure projects are properly reviewed, permitted, scheduled, completed, and maintained in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational standards. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem-solver who is comfortable working both in the field and in an administrative setting. Key Responsibilities Shorefront Construction & Compliance Receive, investigate, and address shorefront construction issues and concerns. Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities. Research applicable regulations, requirements, and property issues. Assist with mediation and resolution of construction-related concerns. Monitor ongoing shorefront construction projects for compliance. Prepare agendas and meeting minutes for the Shorefront Committee. Attend Shorefront Committee meetings and provide reports and updates. Construction Applications Review construction applications for completeness and compliance. Authorize applications in accordance with established requirements and procedures. Conduct on-site inspections related to construction applications. Utilize county GIS and other resources to research properties, boundaries, and construction-related information. Cleanup Crew Management Recruit and hire seasonal or temporary cleanup crew members as needed. Supervise cleanup crew activities and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Coordinate cleanup work days, crews, and designated work areas. Monitor work quality and address issues as they arise. Contractor Management Maintain and administer the organization's approved contractor list. Review contractor qualifications and credentials. Address contractor performance issues and complaints. Ensure contractors comply with applicable regulations, policies, and organizational requirements. Board of Directors Support Attend Board meetings. Prepare and deliver reports regarding construction, maintenance, dredging, contractors, and other assigned operations. Provide timely updates and recommendations to the Board. Dredging & Silt Management Supervise dredging operations and related contractors. Coordinate idle-zone requirements and dredging permits. Schedule dredging work days and designated work areas. Prepare agendas for Silt Committee. Attend Silt Committee meetings and provide reports and updates. Research and develop plans for future dredging sites. Survey and monitor silt traps to help assess dredging needs and priorities. Corporation Asset Administration Maintain an accurate inventory of corporation-owned equipment, tools, and other assets. Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs. Monitor insurance requirements and coverage for corporation assets. Maintain appropriate records relating to equipment, maintenance, and insurance. Fish Stocking & Fisheries Obtain and maintain required DNR permits for fish stocking activities. Coordinate fish orders and stocking activities. Building & Facility Maintenance Assist with janitorial and general building maintenance duties, shared with the Office Manager. Coordinate and oversee building maintenance and construction projects. Work with contractors and vendors to ensure projects are completed properly, safely, and on schedule. Qualifications Strong organizational and project-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work independently while coordinating with committees, Board members, contractors, property owners, and government agencies. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to conduct field inspections and work outdoors in varying conditions. Comfortable researching regulations, permits, property information, and technical requirements. Proficiency with computers, email, spreadsheets, mapping/GIS systems, and standard office software. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. Experience in construction, property management, facilities management, environmental management, municipal/government operations, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of permitting, construction practices, waterways, or dredging is a plus. This person should be comfortable identifying problems, researching solutions, coordinating people and projects, and communicating effectively with leadership and property owners. Because this position touches many aspects of the organization's operations, flexibility, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize competing needs are essential.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
