Consultant New Mexico Building Envelope Architects Location:

Albuquerque, New Mexico Salary:
$62,000-$82,000 annually, depending on experience
Employment Type:
Full-time New Mexico Building Envelope Architects is seeking a detail-oriented Building Envelope Analyst / Consultant to support our building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field-observation work throughout New Mexico. This position is well suited for someone with experience in architecture, engineering, construction, roofing, waterproofing, exterior wall systems, windows, or building-envelope commissioning who wants to develop specialized expertise in building performance and enclosure systems. Position Responsibilities The Building Envelope Analyst / Consultant will assist with: Building-envelope commissioning and consulting projects Field observations of roofing, waterproofing, exterior walls, windows, doors, and related enclosure systems Review of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings Documentation of construction deficiencies and nonconforming work Preparation of field reports, photographs, meeting notes, and technical correspondence Water-infiltration investigations and building-envelope assessments Coordination with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and facility representatives Review of corrective work and verification of completed repairs Development of commissioning checklists, testing procedures, and project documentation Travel to project sites throughout New Mexico Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction, roofing, waterproofing, building-envelope consulting, or a related field Understanding of construction drawings and specifications Familiarity with roofing, flashing, waterproofing, windows, exterior walls, sealants, and transitions between building systems Strong written communication and technical-reporting skills Ability to identify, photograph, document, and clearly explain construction deficiencies Professional communication skills when working with owners, design professionals, and contractors Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently in both office and field environments Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to safely access active construction sites, ladders, roofs, and exterior building areas Helpful Credentials The following credentials are beneficial but not required: Registered Roof Observer — RRO Registered Roof Consultant — RRC Registered Exterior Wall Observer — REWO Registered Building Enclosure Consultant — RBEC Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider — BECxP Commissioning Authority — CxA Architect or Engineer Intern Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer Relevant construction inspection or quality-control certifications Candidates without building-envelope certifications may still be considered when they have strong construction knowledge, field experience, and technical-writing ability. Compensation and Benefits Salary range of $62,000-$82,000 annually , based on experience and qualifications Opportunity for advancement as technical and project-management responsibilities increase Specialized training in building-envelope systems and commissioning Exposure to a wide range of public, institutional, commercial, and forensic projects Additional compensation and benefits will be discussed during the interview process Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is observant, practical, professional, and comfortable working in both the field and the office. This person should be able to recognize construction concerns, ask thoughtful questions, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate findings without creating unnecessary conflict. We are especially interested in candidates who can grow into independently managing field observations, preparing technical reports, coordinating testing, and supporting building-envelope commissioning projects.
