Job Description

This is a full-time bargaining unit position at $37,050.00/year, M - F, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Overall Responsibilities :
To gather and evaluate property data in order to make a determination as to market value for tax purposes. Duties include, but are not limited to : Determines properties to be assessed, and prepares necessary permits, records, files and maps needed to perform assessments in the office or in the field; measures structures and assesses value of residential, industrial and commercial properties in accordance with uniform standards and regulations; maintains all documents, photographs, and files used for assessment according to established practices; interviews property owners, and explains details and results of assessments in person or on the phone; advises property owner of tax assessment procedures, policies and laws relating to assessment of real estate property for tax purposes; performs routine title search work to determine or verify ownership, location, size and value of real property.
Minimum Qualifications:

A. EDUCATION/TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalency, some computer training, and basic math skills required.
B. WORK EXPERIENCE
3 years' experience in an office environment or any acceptable combination of experience and training.
C. LICENSES REQUIRED
1. C.P.E., Certified Pennsylvania Evaluator. Must successfully complete state assessor certification within 2 years of employment and continue to maintain that certification while employed. 2. Must have valid PA driver's license.
