Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assessment intern will assist in reviewing parcel change-detection analyses and comparing results with property assessment records. The intern will help identify discrepancies between detected parcel changes and existing assessment data to support data quality and property review efforts.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to: Review parcel change detection analysis results from geospatial or imagery-based tools. Compare identified parcel changes with current/historical assessment records. Identify and flag discrepancies or potential property changes for staff review. Document findings and maintain organized tracking of reviewed parcels. Assist with data verification and quality assurance for property assessment records.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Current undergraduate or graduate student in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Real Estate, Data Science, or a related field. High school diploma or G.E.D. certification from a recognized issuing agency. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Basic experience with spreadsheets or data analysis tools (Excel). Ability to review and compare datasets for inconsistencies. Prefer experience and familiarity with GIS software (Arc
GIS, QGIS
).
Minimum requirement:
2 Courses or experience related to geospatial analysis, parcel mapping, or property data. Ability to handle stress. Physical presence in the office is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work involves standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds a distance of 15 feet or less.
