Now Hiring:
County Codes Enforcer Hamblen County Government is accepting applications for the position of County Codes Enforcer . This full-time position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Hamblen County's Property Maintenance, Zoning, and Storm Water regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing professional public service while working with property owners, contractors, and the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Enforce Hamblen County Property Maintenance, Zoning, and Storm Water regulations. Investigate complaints involving potential code violations. Conduct field inspections of residential and commercial properties. Meet with property owners and individuals in violation of county codes to explain applicable regulations and required corrective actions. Research and verify property ownership using county records and other available resources. Prepare written reports, maintain case files, and document inspections and enforcement activities. Attend and participate in Property Board meetings by presenting cases and providing recommendations as needed. Coordinate with other county departments and agencies to ensure compliance with applicable ordinances. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Thorough knowledge of Hamblen County Property Maintenance, Zoning, and Storm Water regulations. The ability to interpret and apply county ordinances fairly, consistently, and professionally. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping abilities. The ability to work independently while managing multiple cases and priorities. Proficiency with computers and standard office software. A valid Tennessee driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
