Role Description The Appraiser Trainee is a full-time, on-site role based in Arlington, TX. This position supports licensed appraisers by assisting with property inspections, collecting and verifying market data, and organizing documentation used in commercial property valuation. Daily responsibilities include researching comparable sales and rentals, reviewing public records, and helping prepare appraisal reports and work files under close supervision. The trainee will maintain organized records, communicate with internal team members and occasionally clients to clarify property details, and follow regulatory and company standards. Over time, the Appraiser Trainee will gain the experience needed to progress toward licensure and greater responsibility in commercial real estate appraisal. Qualifications Strong analytical and research abilities, including comfort working with market data, public records, and financial information. Solid written and verbal communication skills for drafting report sections, documenting findings, and interacting with team members and clients. High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines reliably. Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Excel, Word, email), and willingness to learn appraisal-specific tools and databases. Capacity to conduct on-site property inspections, including traveling locally in the DFW area as needed. Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical standards in handling confidential and sensitive information. Interest in commercial real estate, property valuation, or related fields; prior exposure through coursework, internships, or work experience is beneficial. Associate or bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, economics, business, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Ability to work collaboratively with appraisers, brokers, and tax consultants in a team-oriented environment. Willingness to pursue state appraiser trainee registration or licensure as required and participate in ongoing training.
