  • Itasca, IL The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is seeking an experienced, passionate safety professional to lead and advance innovative safety and risk management initiatives that help our members reduce injuries, manage risk, and strengthen workplace safety.
As a trusted leader and industry advocate, the Director of Safety and Risk Management will play a critical role in helping roofing contractors protect the health, safety, and well-being of their workforces as they navigate the unique risks and challenges of the construction and roofing industries. Position Overview The Director of Safety and Risk Management will develop and implement comprehensive safety and risk management strategies across the organization and support member contractors. This role requires a strategic thinker with risk management experience, preferably in the construction or roofing industry. The successful candidate will identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to ensure the association remains at the forefront of supporting members' long-term success and compliance with industry standards. This position requires occasional travel, approximately 4-5 times per year. Key Responsibilities Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks. Member Support and Outreach
  • Serve as a resource for member inquiries, providing expert advice on safety and risk management. Regulatory Compliance
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes relevant to the roofing industry. Implement proactive measures to ensure member compliance. Innovation and Process Improvement
  • Identify and recommend new processes, technologies, and systems. Training and Development
  • Assist with the development and delivery of training programs for members on various safety topics. Industry Advocacy
  • Participate in various industry safety and regulatory committees and activities to advocate on behalf of our members and the roofing industry.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, risk management, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in occupational safety, health, and risk management in the construction or roofing industry. Professional certifications/designations related to occupational safety and health, and risk management are highly desirable. Proven ability to develop and implement risk management frameworks and strategies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
