This is a little different from the usual Senior Tax Accountant opportunity. I'm working with an established CPA firm on Marco Island that's thinking seriously about succession. One of the Partners is looking ahead to retirement and wants to find someone who, over time, could take over his client relationships, help lead the office and potentially take his place. So yes, they're hiring someone to prepare and review tax returns, work with privately owned businesses and individuals and handle the things you'd expect at Senior level. But that's not really the interesting bit. The interesting bit is where this could go. You'll work directly alongside the Partner, gradually build relationships with his clients and become a familiar face within the Marco Island office. Many of their clients have been with the firm for years and regularly stop by during tax season, so this is a genuinely relationship driven role rather than one where you're hidden behind a laptop processing returns all day. For someone ambitious, that creates a much shorter and more realistic route towards leadership and potentially Partnership than you'd normally find at this level. There is one important catch, and I'd rather be upfront about it. You need to want to be in Marco Island. This isn't a remote role dressed up as hybrid. The firm needs someone who wants to become part of the office, lead people and build relationships with local clients. There is flexibility to work from home around one day per week, but if you're looking for two or three days remote every week, this probably isn't the one. If you're already in Naples, Marco Island, Bonita Springs, Estero or the surrounding area and you're thinking about whether the commute makes sense, speak to me before ruling it out. We can have that conversation properly. They're looking for someone with public accounting tax experience who's ready for more responsibility and wants their next move to actually lead somewhere. You don't need to be ready to become Partner tomorrow. That's the whole point. They're looking for someone they can invest in, develop and gradually put in a position to take on more.
