Description For immediate consideration contact Lisa James at (859)788-3684 We are looking for a detail-oriented tax specialist to support corporate tax compliance activities in Central, Kentucky. This role focuses on reviewing complex tax data, contributing to U.S. tax filings, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and consistency. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of federal corporate tax requirements. You will also help strengthen reporting processes by improving controls, documentation, and overall data quality.
Responsibilities:
Review taxpayer records from internal platforms to confirm complete and accurate populations for U.S. filing requirements.
Evaluate submissions provided by business participants and third-party representatives, resolving inconsistencies and identifying missing information.
Examine tax and financial data to detect unusual items, research exceptions, and escalate issues that require deeper review.
Contribute to the preparation of corporate tax filings by applying relevant U.S. federal tax rules and supporting documentation standards.
Compile schedules, analysis, and reporting packages for assessment by outside U.S. tax advisors.
Perform reconciliations across tax accounts and related data sets, investigate variances, and coordinate issue resolution with stakeholders.
Assist with estimated tax calculations and support the ongoing reconciliation of tax balances.
Maintain clear procedural records, control documentation, and operating guidance to support compliance activities.
Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, strengthen data integrity, and expand automation where practical. Requirements
Experience in corporate tax compliance, public accounting, or a comparable tax-focused position.
Background preparing or reviewing complex corporate tax returns and related supporting schedules, including Form 1120.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work accurately through detailed reconciliations and large volumes of data.
Knowledge of U.S. federal corporate taxation, with insurance industry tax exposure considered advantageous.
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications used for analysis, reporting, and documentation.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence collaborating across teams and with external advisors.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; CPA, Enrolled Agent, or progress toward a relevant qualification is preferred.
