Job Description
THE CITY OF PORT HURON IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
PART-TIME
INCOME TAX CLERK
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, team environment with high-volume workloads and specific deadlines while multi-tasking, navigating interruptions, and remaining organized. Assist the Income Tax Staff by: Retrieving, opening and sorting incoming mail. Preparing and mailing outgoing correspondence, as well as, distributing mail to the appropriate internal departments. Enter and process employer W2 forms using CityTax software. Filing, copying and scanning documentation. Maintaining records and files to ensure that they are up-to-date and accessible. Assist with office management and organization. Other duties as assigned. Greet the public in a friendly and professional manner. Answer inquiries from the general public in person and on the phone in regards to the Income Tax Division. Provide excellent customer service to each patron and interact with the public tactfully and courteously. Attention to detail a must. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers. Computer knowledge preferred including, Word, Excel and the internet. Ability to utilize and/or operate a variety of office equipment, including phone and voicemail, copier and scanner. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to work independently to solve problems. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work. Ability to maintain patience, professionalism, mental alertness, integrity, and dependability. High school diploma required.
Working Hours:
Approximately 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Salary Range:
$ 16.00 per hour
